Power Window
Power Window
The drivers side power window stopped working in my 98 cl 3.0. I took the door panel off to look at it and it looks like the cable is just dangling in there. So i took it to the dealership and they said that if the cable is broken they must replace the motor and the regulator(the track the window slides on). I thought this was ridiculous to have to replace both the regulator and the motor so i took it to another mechanic and he said the same thing. Well to replace the motor and reg. the dealership wants $300 and the other guys charges $280. Does this sound too expensive to replace a power window assembly??? Am i getting ripped off???

i bought my regulator off of ebay for about $30 for an accord. i think 2 screws didnt line up right because i didnt see i bought it for an accord wagon but i just used a couple of zip ties and it works fine. its just a little faster than my passenger window.

They're on ebay for cheap. Just buy one, and replace it. There are do it yourself guides posted on here.
I just ordered a new one for $120 shipped. Gonna install it myself this friday when it arrives.
if you can take the door panel off then you can do the rest. Don't get owned byt eh dealership or a shop for a task that simple. DIY is the way to go.

hey guys, I had a question relating. My driver side pwoer window is pretty much toast, what parts am I going to need to buy? My friend is going to install it for me but I'm not exactly sure what specific part I need, the regulator, the motor, both? I have no clue and can I get one off ebay because I search for cl parts and nothing comes up. thx
