Exclamation Please, I need help! Acura can't find/fix the engine problem!

This shit is crazy! Acura can't find or figure out what the hell is wrong with my engine! My car has been in the shop Thurs, Mon, Tue, Wed.....this shit is getting insane!

Here is the prob: (i posted in "problems&fixes" but got no real anwsers or help...here is the orig. link - http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=178770

My [check engine] light came on about 3 weeks ago. Autozone tested it and said it was an EGR code reading "insufficent flow." (I was told my ports&valves were prob all clogged up w/ carbon)

A week after the light came on, my started running like shit. Rough idling, MAJOR engine lag, and rough deceleration. (its mainly between 1-3K RPMS @ slow speeds when I experience the "Lag.") I'll go to excelerate and the RPMS will drop down to like 1K, the car will "lag" and "bog down" (acting like its going to stall and die) and the car will start to "shake" for a few seconds....and then BAM, the rpms jump up and the car jumps back to excelerating.

(it feels like someone has a rope tied to my car and its "holding me back"....and I guess the best way to describe the "lag" is somewhat like a new driver learning a stick shift. The car shakes, acts like its going to die, and then all the sudden jumps back to excelerating....)

Acura said they replaced the EGR valve, the plugs, wires, cleaned out the ports, and performed somekind of "OBD" service...

Well, my car is still experiencing the engine "lag" problems. I took a tech. on a ride, and was able to show him what the car is doing, but the problem is that when Acura replaced the EGR valve and did that warranty service, the [check engine] light turned off.

So now, Acura is saying they couldnt get the car to do it, there is no warnings/lights/codes to help them pinpoint the prob...and so they told me to just drive it.

Obviously something is still wrong. I thought maybe Acura didnt fully clean out the carbon in the ports & valves, but they said they did. I've tried adding the "fuel system/injectors/ports/valves/combustion chamber cleaner" into the gas tank...but that hasnt seemed to help.

CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME!?!

Acura is clueless, my engine is running light shit...and no one knows what the problem is, or what to do about it.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? Can anyone help me???

Thanks! -CJ

Take it somewhewre else. have you checked your plug and wires see if you are having some kind of misfire maybe there is a lose connection. check your fuel pump. Its funny you sayt his. last nigth in my friends truck he has been having the same problems. i know its a truck but its the same exact problem. One of his plug wires has a horriable connection and isnt fiering. maybe yours has a connection that comes in and out, cauesing you to have jumps in the rmp's while driving and idling.
Acura must be retarted. they know damn well they are not suppose to put a car back on the road that is having problems like that. the need to dig. and fix the problem. that is rediculous.

Naw, I KNOW it isnt the alternator...lol...ive been there, done that, and have dealt with those damn problems. This is def. Engine / Emissions related. (its got to be)
I think I'll try one more bottle of the Fuel System Cleaner, but what about Seafoam?? I've never done it, I stated doing some searching on it, and it seems like maybe a little seafoam might help my problem? (I seriously think i still have carbon build up somewhere)

Oh, ive got 140,000....so yea, maybe/hopefully the Seafoam might help?

(Im still kinda confused about it though....)

So for the Seafoam, I disconnect the vaccume line, attach the bottle, start up the car and then spray in the seafoam? Then when Im finished spraying 1/3 of a can, THEN do i rev the car? I've researched, looked @ the instructions, but some seem to be different than others...so im just trying to make sure im doing the correct thing here...lol.
(BTW: its a 97 3.0)

Ok, well since both Acura and the other shop I go to, DONT have any clue whats wrong...Im going to try the Seafoam. Do I HAVE to put it in the oil and gas too? Or can I just put it in the PVC line?? (Id rather not put it in the Oil cuz the oil was changed like a week ago.

I wont be able to tell you exacly what it is but im sure its a voltage issue. I had/have the problem when it rains hard and some part of the car gets wet. My TPS starts acting up but one particular time It rained really hard and I had the exacly problem you had/have.
