My friends dad does tiling, so I used something he had called wirelet. I didnt paint anything actually. What did you think was painted? Thanks for the feedback.

from the near and far front shots, it looks black, but on the side shots it looks shiny. i just figured you used regular aluminum stuff and painted it. what does the stuff you used look like on the roll and where can i get it?

Thats because the actual mesh is very thin from the front. However it is very thick in depth. So when you look at it straight on from the front you only see the front of the grille which is very thin. But when you look from above or beside it, it shines bacause depthwise is it very thick. I kinda like the fact that it looks different from different angles. It throws people off. The front pics make it look blacker than it is, it is actually a little more shiny than that. However your right, from the side it looks solid and shine, but that only because of the wirelet.

The stuff I used is called wirelet. Theres no way it ever came in a roll because it is way too thick. I got it as a large sheet from my friends dad. Perhaps if you go to home depot and ask for wirelet, theyll have it. However, since it is so thin from the front, when you install it you WILL be able to see the stuff that is behind it. Which is why I strongly recommend putting some black mesh behind it (which also attributes to the black look of it from the front). I went to home depot and bought something called animal guard fence because it was the thickest and hardest to see through.

Is that the black plastic mesh stuff? I'm worried about putting too much mesh on so that air can't get through but i'm just paranoid

Also there's no Home Depot around me, would sears hardware or wal-mart carry it by chance?

Hmmmm, I really doubt youll find the wirelet or the animal guard at a wal-mart, maybe sears. The wirelet is a specialty item used mostly by tile layers, but give it a try. If not, just find a thick aluminum mesh piece. The Animal Guard Fence is black mesh but Im sure enough air can get through. I never thought of that though. Ima keep an eye on my engine temperature for a while, If my CL starts to smoke Ill let you know!

i don't have a problem yet with the air flow...
my engine temp is still the same, when i had the grill their.
i think more air travels from the bottom then the top.

plus the grill block like half the air flow anyways, with all that plastic.

sumo, man your car is the SHIT i hate you jk man. my only gripe is the white bottom grille looks out of place and detracts from the fucking awesomeness of the rest of the car.

My poor ass did that Home Depot style. Just some wirelet and animal guard fencing (thick black mesh).

i tried it yesterday without thick black mesh and it doesn't look right since you can see right through it, so i'll put the thick stuff on today.
