painted the valve cover (pics)
before
after
I know the picture is kind of shitty but its because i used my phone, once my digital camera charges i will have better after pictures, i sanded for 4 hours and it came out much much better than it looked before i also replaced the gasket when i did it, and i accidentally ordered two off of ebAY so if anyone needs one ill give it to you for like 10$ shipped or something... but ya, gloss black to match the outside of the whip... let me know what you think.

yup, did that myself, fisrt i took the valve cover and the heat shield off, then i used a sharp putty knife and scraped all i could off, then i found some old paint stripper down in my basement and used that, then i sanded it with a fine grit paper, washed it with a brillo pad and some water... let it dry really good, did three coats of 500 degree paint primer, and then 3 coats of gloss black. spread each coat of paint out about 15 to 20 minutes apart, and then let it dry for 5 hours. i used Duplicolor Engine Enamel With Ceramic high heat(500 degree) paint, got it from auto zone for like 5 bucks a can...

so you went with the 500 degree on the exhaust manifold? i painted my buddy's preludes valve cover and EM, and it looks SWEET! i'll post some pics soon, but the 500 degree wasn't enough for the exhaust manifold. it burned up quick. so we redid it, not sure which degree we went with next. hope it goes well for you though. Ohh and try painting the letters on the valve color a second color. it'll look 100x's better.

sorry guys i should of put this on my last post on this topic but... its alot easier if you put vasaline over the letters and area that your going to paint the second color, or just tape it off. i used vasaline, it was very effective and quick. hope this helps... nice red thats what we did on the prelude, with a silver color for the letters.

Also, pwner, you need to go to walmart or pep boys and get some battery cleaner, and get rid of all that nasty corrosion or get a new batt, it's killin your engine paint, shiz is nasty
