I recently purchased a 1997 2.2CL.... it is black right now and there are some dents and one small rust spot. I am thinking of painting it Amber Fire Pearl Metallic, shown here on an Olds Cutlass: http://images.cardomain.com/member_i...99/17725_3.jpg

What are your honest opinions on how this will look on my CL? Thank you for your comments.

 

In my opinion i dont think you should paint it that color. Think about the 350Z blue! Now that would look pimp. But i also wouldnt paint my car a custm color until it was heavily modded so if you do get some after market parts you dont want to go back again and repaint it. I have a Black CL and i Love it cuz its Pimp! But The only other substitute I would get is the 350Z blue.
p.s if you got you car from Acura dealership they can repaint body parts that are scratched or rusted for free! Thats what they did for me. Welcome to the board!

 

That's no prob... my roommate does the painting, I only pay for the paint itself. I have the color narrowed down to either that or another shade of orange, or possibly a dark cranberry metallic. I've been pouring over my friend's sample paint book for days!

Im still wondering what a CL would look like in a Platinum Mist Metallic color. Like the ones the new beetles and jettas have :P

 

what about the cl in a titanium silver like the is300 or the new lambo? this is what my car was supoosed to be painted but i am just now going with the stock color for now, and then later when i start to win some shit i will get her a new paint job and custom interior

 

go with a darker cranberry color. it will look better

hey apocalypse.....the 350z blue is really really goodlookin..... And once my car is out of the shop in 2 weeks you can see what it looks like on a cl....... its gonna be 350z blue with a silver flake.... i hope it looks as good on my car as it does in my head
