overheating...plus over things
its not the idle thats making that sound, only when im in first gear, or if im cruising and im on the gas very lightly, and i think my second gear is gonna go sometime this yr.........it wont shift until like 3k and when it goes that high and im not flooring it, it'll make that sound
Who did it? And how long ago. It really does not sound good. And you really need to not be red lining that engine. One other thing it could be would be the torque converter on automatic, or the preasure plate/carrier bearing assembly on your clutch if the car is a manual. It is kind of hard to tell from your clip, but those are things I would check.
Now that you mention the shifting issue, your torque converter is the most likely culprit. I bet you are on your way to the 2nd Trnsmission club. Good luck. It is auto yes?

well i have 4k to spend on just the engine and, the labor ill worry about the cash later, i would personally like to drop a k20a2 in, and my second choice would be the cl-s swap, i want either of those if they fit without custom fabrication of parts. yah................6-speed

well 4g's is a good start but right now the k-series are in now and bet that it will cost more. as for the CL-S engine good luck. Cocoa is having a hard time doing it right now. and i know he spend probably about 3x's as much to do it.

ok i think the tranny is shot, i started slippin gears today, and i noticed that my temp gauge will go down under the middle line if its in 1st or 2nd but the instant it hits 3rd it shoot up

alright i had a hard time starting the car this morning, than it died when i put it into D, and so i tested it some more and it keep "stalling" it'd turn off, sometimes jerk before it died.
and it over heats in acouple mins now, and i got it to drive a little while ago and it keeps jumping rpms, even at park it jumps rpms at idle.
what rpm should it be idling at when it starts up?
