Optimal Dropzz

Was wondering...is there an optimal amount that I should drop my CL? I want it more for the improved handling rather than just the looks. Does anybody know? And what are the best lowering springs to get? Does it punish the smooth ride at all? Thanks guys!

Optimal would depend on your taste. The lower the car the better the handling, but the ride will suffer a bit if you are in an area with bad roads. Most people on the board get Eibach springs, either the Prokit 1-2" drop or the sportlines 2"+ drop. These are approximates and would vary on the kit and shocks that you use. I also know that some people have used other brands as well as coilovers to drop their car.

I have the Prokit. It was at least 1 ½ “ drop, close to 2 in the rear. I also still have the stock rims and tires. I like the ride, with my current shocks, but the handling is dramatically better than it was stock.

Eibach sportlines are the best handling wise, but you will lose ride comfort. Also need to purchase new shocks.

If your only looking at a 1.5" drop you can go with the Prokit and I was told that you do not need to get new shocks. I did it anyway. Also, with the Prokit, you don't need a camber kit. Don't quote me on the price because I got a good deal and didn't have to pay for installation, but i think you can get it all done for less than $500??
