Buy the eBay intake. Put on a K&N filter or a AEM dryflo filter. End of story.

right or wrong

thats GENERALLY a rule of thumb...... but IMHO the big brand name companies put ALOT of R&D into their shit to give you the best of both worlds, I think my AEM is great in terms of flow and filtration.... my bro's K&N isnt bad either though

your engine is fine with sucking in the tiny shit that gets past the filter, but obviously not too much, my brothers old Celica had a eBay CAI on it running a K&N filter........ thing is the damn filter fell off (more on the damn intake pipe than the filter, I think) so eventually he got low compession on 2 of his pistons and a CEL code that said those same cylinders were misfiring... we then found the thing off the pipe..... so yeah dirt will ruin your engine

dont bother, if you want just a off-brand muffler piece just go to a nearby mufler shop and grab one off their shelf and have them weld it on for you, itll save you money in the end and itll do about the same thing

oh and if its as big as youre saying itll probably look like ass and sound like shit

Do I have to pay 700$ for a real exhaust? Or are the ebay ones fine?

depends on what you wanna do, cat backs come pretuned, or you can piece an exhaust together like most of us have done, or you can just slap a muffler on your car, however I have to warn u if you put a CF muffler on your car, people on here will laugh @ u

You can get a full catback for around 450 shipped on ebay, name brand at least.

WS2

I grabbed that one for my CL, it's a very quiet exhaust though, pretty close to stock. As a matter of fact when I put it on w/o my intake when I bought the car, I barely noticed a tone difference. If you want something louder you'll have to look for an N1 or a Greddy of the sort which will probably run around 500. And like previously mentioned... grabbing one of those universal cans at the local shop is much cheaper and they aren't half bad. My accord originally had a cheapo "ractive" fart can on it and it sounded pretty good for the pennies it probably cost. It just wasn't attractive.

I dont really just want a muffler. It wont do anything for my car besides make it sound better. However, a full exhaust will give me HP

well a muffler alone will give you a small boost, biger piping will be a little more, im sure you can get an exhaust shop to custombend you a cat-back for around 200-250

**i did not read the whole thread**

if anyone is interested in gaining noticable horsepower getting a CAI and custom exhaust will only give you minimal gains that you probably wont notice. your car will just be louder.

save all that money and get one of these:

then you will see that all of the "bolt ons" dont really mean much anymore...
