piping is aluminum, keeping the air cooler than the plastic pipes. cooler air=more hp. and the filter is also an external filter instead of a box filter, also getting more air.
plus it sounds sweet.

x2 on the short ram, those 2 reasons, and when it comes time to wash my filter its ALOT easier to get off and back on........ you can go with the full short ram or ive seen one ghetto made with a cone filter coupled to the stock pipes.. I went with an AEM SRI, and I love it...

i just gave you a link for a full intake system for $28. LOL you decide which one is better, a full intake system for $28 shipped or $44 for just metal piping.

aem is name brand, the ebay ones are cheaper versions. and im pretty sure the aem's are 1 piece not 2. but for $1 it couldnt hurt. if you dont like it you can always make it into a short ram.

stay away from ebay exhausts and headers unless you want exhaust leaks.

AEM gives you that pretty CARB exemp sticker on the intake, and thats important for some people...... Id prefer a 2 piece CAI since its easier to install an AEM bypass valve... but I still prefer SRI by far

and for the record Im running eBay header and its fine, no leaks or anything like that, I just need to find a gasket for the connection to the cat is all

But don't think for 1 minute that you are going to see the increases that most of those ebay listings advertise. They say what, like 5-10 hp?

In reality, your looking about 2-4... If that.

soap and water in a bucket........ fill bucket to height of filter, use some mild soaps (they have their own cleaning kits but its just soap im guessing), dip it in, slosh it around for a few minutes, dump bucket, repeat as needed, and the final rinse or 2 needs to be in plain water to wash out the soap unless you wanna suck in some soap bubbles into your motor

their old oiled shit was K&N contracted I believe it was, but theyve moved to solely Dryflo now, and AFAIK thats AEM themselves, not contracted out

am i going to have to bend/ cut the pipes on the ebay intake ?

is that why its so cheap?

No, it comes bent, that's why you buy it for a specific car, so it's bent to fit on that car

so i read a lot on this, and the filter that it comes w/ probably trades off filtration for airflow.
so my engine breaks b/c lots of dirt gets into it... ?

right or wrong
