"Oh Shit" handle on the driver side - Ideas/Opinions?

I was contemplating how viable of an idea it is to install a handle on the driver side of my car to make it easier to get in/out and sometimes I just like to hold onto them while cruising etc.

Has anyone done this seen this done or has any idea how easy it would be to do?

I would have to assume the door behind the driver side is the same as the passenger as far as something to bolt into goes.

Right, we always called them Oh shit handles because it's the only thing you could grab on in the passenger seat in an oh shit situation.

"Roof handle" is what I'm talking about yes.

What I have no idea about however is if there are any holes already there to bolt into etc or what exactly you would have to do to install one on driver side.

^ oh ok...

there is just 2 holes with a clip in the back of the roof carpet for the 2 screws. you should be able to get everything from dealer or website.

# 10 is the whole assembly you need. They call it a "grab rail"

What site did you pull that diagram from?

The biggest concern I have is the installation is the roof different on the pass side allowing for the installation? For example screw holes on pass side and nothing on driver etc.

I may pull my pass side off and take a look under it.

^ good site to get parts as well. Unless you got 40% of parts at the dealership like i do!

yeah check it out to make sure. But i am confident that it should work. Just need to make the necessary holes in the roof carpet.

I've got two hands on when speed or curves are in the forecast :P

I'll probably use it for getting in and out and just as something to dick around with. I usually have left arm on the window anyway.

I pulled the screws out of my pass side handle and I don't think I would fuck around with this unless I could verify there are already screw holes on the driver side (which I doubt)

The handle would be worth it just for getting in and out IMO.

yeah, its risky, youd have to pull down the headliner to make sure theres a cross member or something to screw into so you dont go straight through the roof

it's called the "Holy Shit" holder.

and it's useless on the drivers side, just hold the wheel.

How is it useless on the drivers side? They're used for getting in and out of the vehicle as well.

you must be really tall then.
i'm 6'4ish and i have no problem getting in and out of my cl dropped on k-sports
our seats being as flat as they are on the bottom really help for this ease of entry and exit.
if i had racing seats or something with a lot bigger bolsters, then yes something like this would be in order, but not for the stock seats IMO
but to each their own

I mean it's not hard getting in/out by any means it's just something to do if it's easy.
