No key

Hello i have a little problem. I need some help, I just recently bought a cl at a insurance auction i bought a 2.3 cl 99 it came with no keys so i went and got a regular key made as you know it does not start the car. what i was wondering is i called my local dealer and they told me i would have to replace the wholde immobilizer system. I think this is bull cause i called another dealer and they told me that they only had to read the ecm. which is true cause. Please i need to resolve this issue asap. Another think i read about was a certain brake code that i could enter and it would temporaraly let me start the car. Thanks for reading. <Alex>

on the regular key the black part on the top of the key(forgot what it's called), there's a chip inside of it. you need to replace the key from acura.

I work at ace and we have a machine that can read the chip codes from the key and program new ones. I'm sure if the key can be read it can be read off the ECU somehow.

the chip on the key works the same as the remote control. you program the car to reconize the key, not the key to recognize the car.

well people i think the dealer is trying to rip me off. I took the car over there and they said that i need to get a new transponder blank key and immobilizer unit, So i got it. Then 2 hours laters they called me and said that it a no go still doing the same thing and they cannot do anything about. This leaves me stumped as the dealer is the only place that can service this type of problem. I honesty think that the service tech just installed the immobilizer and thats it. Needless to say he did not teach the ecu the new key code. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

if you go to a junk yard or somehting and look for a crashed cl ask them if they got the keys for it and get the ecu there. or try calling repo men. ask what they do about it or try looking at site for repo tools

hey iwas reading something that said the dealer had to use something called a pgm tester with the immobilizer software card
to read the code off the ecu maybe if i bring that to the service tech's attention he will suddenly remember to use it.

esay slightly costly option: change your cylinoids... the ignition and door cylinoids can be change with new keys... simple and you know it will work!

ummmm. If I'm understanding everything correctly, then if I have my regular key and decided to get some extras made at a plain ole key shop those keys would not work?

there is an Acura customer service center in TX, not sure what the number is, but I am sure you can get it from 800 directory assistance, they should be able to help.
