Paint Repair

Yesterday coming home I was not paying attention when pulling into my garage and I kind of brushed up against a support column with my moms M3 and put some nice scuffs in the paint. I immediately washed the area where I hit, used denatured alcohol to remove the paint from the column, used Meguiars Scratch X to try and hide the scuffs, and followed up with Gold Glass wax to make eveything look shiny. The problem is, my mom noticed. She volunteered me to have it fixed for her... I called a local auto body shop and asked them how much it would cost to remove scuffs, not scratches. I was told that the whole front end needed to be repainted becasue when they looked at the scuffs they said something about them being the same as rubbing sandpaper on your paint . My friend told me about like same day dent repair places can repair scuffs pretty well, has anyone had this done? If so does it look good, and will it hold up in the long run?

anytime i get scuffs on my car i use my friends high speed buffer and some cleaner wax....if its just a scuff...if its scratches you can buff it out w/ some hard, medium, or fine cut ....depending on how its scratched
