New 14816 muffler

I know it's nothing special, but it's my first mod on this car. Forgot to clean the muffler before I took these pictures but, oh well.

If anyone else has one of these.. when you got yours installed, did the shop make it a little more loose than your liking?

This thing rattles a bit when it hits a very low tone. I think I'm gonna see if they can tighten it up a bit...

Haha, yah very loud. Specially going up a hill in 2nd gear behind a truck. Giving me a back massage. I decided not to get the resonator but if it becomes a problem I might.

Cop was driving right behind me and he didn't seem to care.

I didn't actually expect anything, but I did notice a slightly significant amount of increased responsiveness in the pedal. In other words, little bit more air flow and a little bit more pep off the line. I have a feeling that is due to the new piping teamed with the muffler.

I didn't run any test, it just feels like that to me. So I may be wrong.

You live exactly where I live.

$156 for muffler off of ebay. $60 flat rate for muffler install. $70 for the piping.

I went to a custom piping shop that specialized in mufflers. From what I understand I got a pretty good deal on the install.

Total: $276 give or take

buy a magnaflow resonator (22''), and change the piping down there to 2.25'' (if you're a 2.x) or 2.5'' (if you're a 3.0).

do it now!

So, I've been thinking about the 14815 but the 14816 looks real nice. Can you put up an audio of it so we can hear it? I want it, but I don't want to sound all like I've got an N1 or some like that. So if you can, please post an audio clip.

And yeah, get your tires matched up, that will screw with your handling.

Where would I find the best deal on a resonator?

Let me clarify... what I mean is:

Would it be cheaper to buy one from a shop and maybe get a discount on an installation, or just to hit ebay and find one.

Oh man.. I just listened to it... it sounds a little ricey in the low rpms. I actually had no idea. I might get that resonator after all.

If you would like the video hit me up with a PM (for security reasons...)

I checked out the vid... Looks awesome... but sounds a bit raspy. I think the reso would do a great deal of good to lower the tone. And your whip is a 2.2, yes?

PM replied, I also rehosted the orig two vids and put up a 3rd of my friend trying to drive my car. She's not too good at stick, so I couldnt really get a sense of what my car sounds like when someone floors it, oh well, you can still hear it somewhat though

on another note, after I got my headers installed, my car sounds a lot more ricey

right click, save as please
startup, rev, takeoff

flyby

low rpm

Wow... yah that sounds MUCH nicer than mine. Alright, ordering the resonator.

KlepTo, that sounds great... I bet on the 3.0 it would be a bit more throaty. I like it. That is more the growl I am after, though you can still tell your car is a 2.X.
