need some input.

so the mileage is kinda sucking with the 3.0 cause i'm mostly doing city driving. i'm currently getting 10.5-11.5l/100kms which isn't too bad but i'm driving about 100kms a day at a buck a litre.

now, since i'm not in a position to get a civic or something to cut back on gas cause with the extra insurance and upkeep on two cars it's not really gonna get me further ahead anyways.

i do however have my CB7 rotting away out back with pretty much everything i would need to swap in the f22 and 5spd into the CL.

question is, with 360,900kms on the CL, is it worth the hassle? like the CB7 is like 400lbs lighter than the 3.0 and got better mileage with the f22.

i can do pretty much the whole thing myself too.

So are you planning to put the F22 into the 3.0 CL? Usually people are trying to go the other way around lol.

you are more likey to have more problems when swapping it out in the long run. its better to stay with the original engine with the original car sometimes.

Why don't you drive the CB7?

oh the CB7 has a crushed rad support and 422,000kms on the body, that's why i'm not driving it. i go the 3.0 instead of fixing it, was looking for a 2.X originally, but the 3.0's were all cheaper.

Converting that to standard measurements, that's about 22.5MPG. Not completely terrible for an older 6cyl if you ask me. I get that in bad city traffic with the TL, cruising on the highways = 33mpg and back roads is usually 28-38 mpg depending on the conditions and traffic. I vote for 6MT J32 swap, or just swap the entire car like I did.

cb7's are great cars dude, I honestly kinda miss mine at times...basically as bulletproof as it gets. That being said, if my CL wasn't a free hand-me-down, I'd say the only thing holding it back from perfection is the auto tranny. If I had a manual F in mine I'd be a happy camper for a long while. I say go for it if you're up for the challenge

werd, in hindsight i kinda wish i fixed it, but CL looks so much meaner. it would be the best of both worlds really. i mean the f22 i built makes almost as much power as the j30, plus the CL's engine bay has way more room for a turbo down the road.

oh i didn't know that the frame and rad had problems. with the 2.3 in your 3.0 bay you are going to have a bunch of room to work with if you do more mods.

I believe you'd have to change your subframe along with having the parts to go manual, but if you got what u need then y not? It would def be a 1st on here, 3.0 to single cam 4 cyl lol.

i'll have to double check but i don't see why the CB7 subframe wouldn't fit, i think it's still straight, lol. i have to get a new ecu as well cause i gave it to one of my buddy's for his wagon. but i need to increase the rev limiter, so not sure what i should do.
