My window regulator finally crapped out on me

Well, today my drivers side window regulator bit the dust. Now i'm stuck with a window that wont go up. Whats the quickest, and cheapest, way to fix this problem. I've heard the horror stories of dealers charging upwards of $200, and I dont wanna be in that boat. I know someone said they got it fixed for $70 or so, but dont remember who it was. Anybody got any ideas? Can I get the part from that acura automotive website?

Eric, search the A-CL threads because many have posted DIY instructions...It'll be ALOT cheaper. I think Klepto added DIY instructions w/pics to his homepage. All you have to do is purchase the window regulator off ebay and DIY.

Here you go https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=170833
Now get off your and DIY.

BTW - If I would of had these instructions last year, I would of never paid
$276.00 to fix my window. It was fixed by Honda/Acura specialist ( Acu-Tech )
in Miami.

Ha! I think i remember paying upwards to $350 to get mine rushed fixed. And even now, its still slllllooooowwwwww rolling up sometimes...I think I just need to get 2 xtra regulators and keep them in the basement for a backup supply....

Somethings about Acura just piss me off. Our regulators suck, our trannys suck, and the CL replaced the Legend. And I mean damn, the legend had soo many more features than the CL...that pisses me off.

yea, i had it priority shipped, so it ran me $76 total. Not bad, the dealership wanted an arm and a leg for it. I'll have to then either do it myself or pay someone $20 who is a little bit more mechanically inclined than I am.

Damn sorry to hear about your window regulators. I also rememmber the horror stories about them like 2 years ago. Mine are doing fine. When my windows are slacking, I use a silicone spray, and i spray it on the lining that rubs against the windows. it works gooooooooooood

He prolly smoked the fuse. Too bad about the window regulators. You might call them window "deregulators." Maybe they are REPUBLICAN window deregulators. hahahahaha

Like the current administration, they just don't work. 2cents.

I suppose it depends what the silicone spray is made of. Cuz I remember I had my mechanic "friend" work on my car and I told him that my windows were bitching out. He said that he can spray some shit to make it better. When I had rolled down the windows, it worked wonderfully. When I had rolled up the windows there was fuckin grease smeared all over my windows. I dont know what he used but it was a fuckin bitch to get off. Months later, my windows had started to bitch out again, so I went to home depot and bought this silicone spray. I got home and I sprayed that shit, and it worked like a charm. No smearing whatsoever.

I read that in Japan, RSX are still Integras. And here in the states, RL stood for Renamed Legend.
