My wheel shakes!

Ok I just put on my 18's last night..........and my steering wheel shakes at high speeds. Why is it doin this? I'm going in for an alinment in a hour, hopefully this helps. Could it be the fucks who mounted and balanced them fucked up???
What do you guys think?

Sounds like you need your wheels to be high speed balanced. Most performance shops have a machine that does the high speed balancing for them. They simply mount the wheel on the machine and the machine balances the wheel using these sticker weights on the inside of the rim. The people at the shop never even touch the weights. That should help and is usually the problem if your steering shakes at around 60 mph.

Sounds like an alignment problem. Your old tires probably wore in a way that you didnt get any shaking.

I'd do an alignment first thing after putting on any new tires.

Listen to this shit!
I take my car to NTB and they say they do alignments with my 18's on because their machine will scratch the hell out of them. So the guy says bring your car back with the stock wheels. Why would I do this if my wheels were fine when they were stock.

Their logic is flawed, but maybe they did you a favor by telling you they were going to fuck up your 18s before they actually DID fuck them up.

Time to go elsewhere!

sometimes getting a hub centering ring for a rim can help reduce steering wheel shaking if alignment doesn't work...look into it if you get a chance...that's what worked on my 14"s on my civic about 8 years ago... as hougee would say, "kee kee!"

I called the wheel shop and they said to have a shop check the balance again.................they also shipped me some hub ring which will be here next week sometime. They better work.
