my problems again.......
my problems again.......
remember this video i posted awhile ago of a weird noise
http://video.freevideoblog.com/searc...C2A855AF15.htm
well i think its from the timing belt, and it suspect that it was put on wrong, and i think my timing is now messed up from that, because it keeps spiking rpms when it is on and sometimes dies when its idling. its kinda almost like the gears keep slipping out and the rpms shoot up when im driving sometimes, but its done it while im P so im ruling out the transmission
my uncle who did the tune-up and timing belt, says my car is overheating from my ebay intake
im starting to think he doesnt know jack shit because he says i need to plug in 4 more hoses into my intake....and he put in the wrong altenator into my cl and it was giving off to much watts, and he just replaced it with a new one. and i think he may have put the timing belt on backwards

Your uncle is full of
there are only 2 vaccuum lines for the intake, and it def sounds like your timing is off, or your tps might be screwed up if it's stalling

the best part about it is my parents believe him that its my fault the car is doing this because of the intake..........all of it is because of the intake because he works in a garage.

yes it would
when mine went, the car wouldnt start at all
if the tps is faulty your rpm could surge or bogg down
i would check the timing on the car
if thats correct then your bottom end is shot
at least thats what it sounds like

yeah the one morning mine didnt start at all, then i put it in nuetral and let it roll acouple inches and tried again and i got it started, but as soon as i put it in d4 it died, i put it in d3 it died, so i tried 1 and it died. than it was driveable after acouple hours but it would still stall and my rpms keep spiking
idk i never asked my uncle, he ran the codes while my dad was with him, all they told me was the insuficient air cel from the intake, i know theres more than just that because i've had the cel on before i put on the intake
update on shitty news, it started acting up again today
and i got the car back from my uncle yesterday, and all of a sudden now i hear my intake when its idling.....i only use to hear it when i was driving and accelerating

nice lawn.
If i recall correctly, theres a vaccum line connected to the resonator below. make sure you caped that off with a golf tee or something. Check what code your throwing by yourself. Read the noob file and it will tell you how. I totally think your uncle is bullshitting. Pull the code your self with a thin wire and get back to us.

no no no no, come back. do this:
a. Find the Data Link Connector (DLC) located under the instrument panel in the driver's side. It is bolted to the kick panel and is gray in color on the 1998 models.
b. Jump terminals 8 and 13 by connecting them with a wire/cable.

c. Turn the ignition key to ON and observe the "CHECK ENGINE" light. It will flash the trouble codes. For example: 2
long flashes, pause and then 3 short flashes = 23 = P0325 = Knock sensor circuit fault (4 cyl only).
One short flash = 1. One long flash = 10. If there are no trouble codes, the light will not flash.

HOW TO CLEAR TROUBLE CODES (after you fix the problem)
a. Remove ignition key
b. Locate fuse panel on passenger's side
c. Remove fuse no. 13 10 seconds, and then place it back in.
