my new UFO mod

well I finally got around to doing that mod I said I was waiting until April to do. I dont think anyone else has VIP puddle lights on their CL, I think they look ok

they only come on when my dome comes on. i.e. when I unlock my car, they come on. When I lock, they go off. they also come on when I open my doors. It helps me find my car at night

anwaysy enjoy the quick, blurry, crappy pics. The lights look bluer than in real life, theyre white LED's.

and a video of them in action when I lock/unlock my doors.

Thumbs up

did you just insert led's or did you set up a bar so that they only spot where you want them to?

Nice. Your car looks like its hovering, almost.

I thought about doing something similar, except the LED's would function as kind of a side marker. But I quickly scratched that idea.

I think what he did was either purchase an LED bar and put it under the side skirt, then drilledd the holes in the skirt.. that or inserted several LED bulbs into the holes.. either way, mad props Klept. That shit looks MAD TOYTE y0.

thanks for all the comments guys, its actually a kit that you can buy. Its basically 10 LED's strung together. Theyre completly waterproof. Mercesdes-Benz has them on their BRABUS equipped cars. But for them, they actually drill into the sideskirts and flush mount them. But brabus charges like $150+

The kit comes with 3M mounting tape, but I didnt trust those, so I just drilled them into my sideskirts as well. Now im thinking about putting my sides back on so that I dont scrape these suckers off

orlando3.0-the comment i made about it making my car easier to find was a joke

How would you go about drilling into the side skirts? I love my ghetto pink neons, but the illegal factor's going to kick my ass one of these days...

im pretty sure all underbody lighting is illegal on the street.. if your car is parked, cops cant really do anything about it..

i dont know the laws in South Carolina but here in Cali neons are legal as long as you stay within their rules
rule #1 tubes cannot be seen only light from neons
rule #2 cannot be red from mid car forward. any other color is fine. red is reserved for emergency vehicles.
rule #3 cant be within 12 in. of any working lights (e.g. headllights, tailights, markers, etc)
rule #4 cant be more than .05 candela of light per sq. in. on ground ( like a cop would be able to measure that.)

as long as you stay within those lines your ok in Cali. but id check your local laws dont just take my word for it

well clean 3.0, if your neons look like the ones in your pic, I sure hope you dont go driving around like that. I thought all exterior lighting on a car was illegal other than headlights, turn signals, etc.

nope, theres actually a lot of lighting you can do to your car as long as you know the laws. and my undercar is red in the picture but i change the color when i drive around. cops will look and then get mad cause they cant do a damn thing about my lights.

yup, jlevi is where I got them. He had a preorder way back in the begining of the year, so I jumped on it but had to wait until april cause they were being developed. If you do get em, tell em klepto from acurazine sent ya.

I used to have the front a bit lower, but then i rubbed like fucking crazy on every bump on the freeway. So thats when I pulled my fenders and raised it up a notch. The rear is all the way down, but im planning on taking the bottom collar off and ordering stiffer springs for the front so theres less rebound and then dump the front again. The car is much too high right now

yea, wiring was a bitch people, so consider that. Install was a bitch too. I dont think you could just tap directly into the dome, theres not enough power and i wouldnt want you running the risk of blowing these out. I had my alarm guys put in two relays. one for the dome to come on/off when my alarm locks/unlocks and another for the lights.

also you guys might notice that I put my sides back on, I had to because without them you could see the lights on the side in the day and it looked liked my car had nipples so I took my WW sides, and cut out the bottom part so that the lights could shine down and threw em back on. Ghetto, but w/e it works

you could see them just walking up to the car. I didnt think they were so bad becuse I was in my garage and was at a limited angle. But once I got them on and took the car out it was really bad. You could see them from only a few steps back and my friend said that you can see them when im driving.

they actually dont look too bad in this pic but believe me in person, they were an eyesore. Plus at night you could see the actual lamp light up and the spots on the ground.
