My friend want a CL, is it a good price???

A friend of mine found a black 3.0 98 with low miles, all options. They have it listed for 15995, is this a good price? NADA lists the average retail at 16,425, but that number means nothing. So what would be a good price to get it for???

A friend of mine just bought a '97 3.0 with 37,000 miles for $13,900. So the one your friend saw doesn't have a fantastic price. If he can knock $2,000 off then it would be a good price. Just my 2 cents

depends on how low the mileage... some people consider 100kmi low mileage, in that case the price would be way too high.

Last january I got my 97 3.0 premium, certified from an acura dealer with 19kmi for $22,000

so if that 98 has anything under 50Kmi, i'd say its a good price... as long as the car seems to be in good shape and everything is solid.

$16,000 is the sell value for a 1998 3.0 Cl...

If he were to purchase the car from a personal seller instead of dealer he can get a much cheaper $$$....

This is probably the car he's looking at if it's from Des Moines. Looks like a good deal at $15,995 with 38K miles/all options.

^^^ Damn that thing needs to be dropped!

Anyway, I picked mine up last September with 30k miles for 15.5k, (17k out the door). Just tell him to negotiate hard and try to get it below 15k. I know mine is a 2.3, but the NADA and KellyBlueBook values aren't much different between the two.

I got my 98 cl 3.0 premium three months ago from an acura dealership w/38,000 miles for 19k. So that looks like a pretty good deal. (looks exactly like the one above except cant tell if this one has the bose system)

If you buy any used car from an acura dealer they will charge you way more. Since they certify the car and add on a warranty. Try buying it from a private seller and you will save a couple thousand dollars.

if you buy any used car from any dealer you will pay more. usually because you can trust a dealer more, not to sell you a "LEMON". they didnt add any money for any kind of warranty, i think i paid around $350 to make it an acura certified pre-owned vehicle which extended my warranty through 62k miles.

If this is the car he's looking at it's at the DM Chrysler Plymouth dealership. Don't know if it comes with a "Certified Warranty" if it's not from an Acura dealer But if he wants a 1st gen. CL tell him to jump on it, they are hard to find around here anymore. They usually go pretty fast once they hit the lot.

I almost bought a 98 for $16,400 and 49,000 mi. from a Lexus dealer. Their warranty was 2 months / 2,000 miles. Glad I didn't.

I paid $16,300 out the door from a dealer, for my 98 with 38,500 mi and received the 100,000 mi / 7 yr warranty. Got it certified and they treated me great. (gave me a brand new TL with 500 mi on it, for a loaner over the weekend while my car was being cert too). Just my opinion, but buy from an Acura dealer and buy the extended warranty, especially if you're makin' payments.

Since we're going through the numbers, here's my deal:

I got mine ('97 3.0 Premium) from an Acura dealer with 51,400 miles for $16,500. For this price I got a 3 year/36,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty ($1200), Teflon paint protection ($350), and Undercoating ($150). Subtracting the "extras", that's $1700 off, or $14,800. Given the car your friend is looking at is a '98 with 38K miles, I would offer around $15,500 max.

Not a good price

I am having a helluva time selling my 97 3.0 with 64k miles, more zaino than paint, 16" wheels. Perfect condition with flawless dealer service record. I have it listed for 13,600 and i've gotten 2 calls on it. Right now is not a good time to be selling cars, great time to be bargaining if you are a buyer though.
