Slow Startup

when I first start my car, if i floor it within the next couple minutes the car is very slow. seems like vtec isnt even working. in the next couple minutes the car starts back up again and starts pulling hard (about when the heat starts working in the car) what could be the cause of this. i noticed it about the time when I installed so i might not have done something right when i installed. thanks

Yikes man, you should never drive your car hard when it's cold! When the block is cold and you beat on it, it creates hot spots... so different parts of the block expand at different rates than others, causing wear.

If I remember right, they don't let the VTEC engage until the coolant warms up to prevent further wear.

The car needs to be warmed for the vtec to kick in. Its very bad for your car to be run hard when its first started because you need to get that oil moving in the pistons and the vavles moving again.
