when I first start my car, if i floor it within the next couple minutes the car is very slow. seems like vtec isnt even working. in the next couple minutes the car starts back up again and starts pulling hard (about when the heat starts working in the car) what could be the cause of this. i noticed it about the time when I installed so i might not have done something right when i installed. thanks
Yikes man, you should never drive your car hard when it's cold! When the block is cold and you beat on it, it creates hot spots... so different parts of the block expand at different rates than others, causing wear.
If I remember right, they don't let the VTEC engage until the coolant warms up to prevent further wear.

Yea my Dad told me the same thing a while ago..you never go to high rpms until the engine has heated up..its just bad for the engine...my friends don't believe me..but i guess it'll be their loss in the future...

ok thanks guys. thats what i figured. i think i just noticed it because after i installed the cai i tried to floor it right away so i could hear the new noise. just glad my cars not messed up. thanks again.
The car needs to be warmed for the vtec to kick in. Its very bad for your car to be run hard when its first started because you need to get that oil moving in the pistons and the vavles moving again.
