My first 3.0CL

Im new to the cl community and new to the site. I just got my 97 Acura Cl 3.0 auto. Really excited. ive been reading here and there about what things i can do.

I want some advice on what i should get for it. I also need help on a nice exhaust system. I like the low deep tone sound. I dont mean to sound demandin or anything but i just need some advice from dudes in the game already. Im all for headers, intake ...all that. just dont know what brand and type i should be looking for.

and i got about 1500-2000 to play with. so yea.

thanks in advance guys

Stance before power IMO.

It needs wheels and a drop before anything else.

first things first...

read: https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-cl-1997-1999-56/announcement-a/

suspension depends on your price range, and what do you want/expect from it.

suspension then rims. 17's are pretty recommended for our cars, 18's could have rubbing issues, 19's will have rubbing issues but has been done before.

i read the noob guide. so i need a cat-back. is the apexi WSII a good option. with the custom piping? i got a shop that will do it for real cheap(family discounts). but does that apexi come with the resonator?

I believe my uncle already had the SRI on it. Sounds great. And my uncle already said he would get me any suspension i want under 1500, so the tein SS sounds good. but for wheels i still need to look around for some 17's.

the WSII is a fairly popular option for our cars. i have a megan N1 Glasspack witch custom piping, you can find a sound clip in my link. its deep ad throaty as well, and just different.

with the resonator? if by resonator, your referencing the muffler, then yes lol unless your talking about a replacement for the stock resonator

The Apexi WSII is a full catback there is no custom piping. It's everything behind the converter.

welcome to AZ
get some pics up if you can so we can see what the cl looks like
first thing has to be a drop, the cl's look soo much better when they are lowered and not a 4x4 anymore.

If it's available in the 97-99 CL, then I would get the CL ones, but either works. Just make sure if you get the CL ones you make sure it's rated for 3.0 and not 2.2 or you'll have a shitty front ride because of the extra weight of the engine.

edit: actually, that is for springs, it shouldn't matter with coilovers since they are adjustable and all. Not completely sure but like I said, Either will work.

they make it for the cl, so get that one.

but usually if they dont make it for the cl, then get it for the 94-97 accord

question

since i cant use the pm system yet and i cant click on the person's avater, in f22vtec pic, it looks like he got the amber corners with HIDs in.

i read the DIY in black housings and but no amber. unless i skipped it by accident.

and are those HIDs in both lo and high beam? similar to what i had a vision of.

Making the corners amber is easy. Just amber spray tint the corner lens when you pop them out for blackhousing the trim. That's what me, f22vtec, and Spencer_Homer did. Here is my headlight setup. Excuse the misaligned bumper and dirty ass car..
