My camber kit nightmare

getting the right camber kit from ignalls (bunch of morons) was a mission in itself. thanks for your patience arber. so after installing the camber kit i noticed driving home from supraman's house a terrible banging noise coming from my driver side and sometimes passenger side suspension depending on the bump or dip in the road. it was obvious that it was something was hitting something but i couldnt figure out what. hmmm maybe i should have popped my hood. so i bring it to my performance shop E-Shift performance in Old Bridge NJ, and they discovered this

basically my camber kit was banging this part of my shock tower denting it. so E-Shfit basically got an air hammer made more room for the camber kit to go up and down. its a temporary solution until they find me a good price on a camber kit that is positioned on a different part on the control arm, so it will extend up and down into a different part of the shock tower. i hope.

this is what they had to do.

hopefully the new camber kit will work. cuz this had been a fucking nightmare for me and arber. i thought something like this could or would never happen. ill keep u guys updated

I purchased an SPC camber kit with the Eibach 2" drop for my 2nd gen and had no issues whatsoever.

But of course, I didn't put them on myself, I had a professional do it.

That really sucks though. A good camber kit shouldn't be doing that to your car.

hmmm I have the Ingalls installed as well

it's the tip of the contol arm that hits the body of the car when it goes up

just be glad you didn't bust a hole through your shock tower

you can purchase any brand. not that there are many. whos to blame? honda for the poor design. see after you lower your car you get negative camber. in order to make up for that camber you need to add positive camber to balance out. in doing so you are literaly extending your control arm. since our shock towers are desined for OEM ball joints only once you extend the control arm via adjustable ball joint camber kit you are instantly hitting. there are a few things you can do for this. you can hammer away the shock tower and make more room. you can have a moderate drop or you can simply have have fucked up camber with no kit. that just = $$$$ for tires. Matt I say you airhammer that thing a bit more untill u have a non knocking ride.

they told me thats the most they can air hammer without busting through the shock tower. but trust me if i had the tools i would try and see that for myself. i asked them if they could cut it for me, but they said it would weaken the shock tower. i guess the only thing i could do is take it easy on the bumps. i wish i had the money or GHOST would not be a daily driver.

coilovers would be great, if i had some money. i would have to sell half the parts on my car to afford them.

Is the Ingalls kit really worth all the trouble?
