My 1st 1/4 run

so tonight was cruise night at E-Town in Old Bridge NJ tonight so i decided since admission and running the track was free id give my car a shot. we were only allowed to run once so i had to give it my best, ive never ran my car before, i got an obviously slow time at 17.3 @ 81.65 mph and beat a 2001 Accord CP 5MT in the process. he ran a 17.4 @80MPH. my reaction time wasnt to good at .969 but my launch was perfect, my car didnt bog down or nothing. and me like a moron ran the car with a full tank of gas. the weather was really hot and humid so most cars were running garbage times. so hopefully when fall comes around and the temperatures cool down and the humidity goes away i can break into the 16's. just thought id let you guys know how i did. i thought for my first time ever racing i did alright, but i have a lot to improve on.

Congrats - though in the racing world we're pretty much the shit-on-a-wall-during-a-blizzard slow types...

i heard they finished machining the block and is soon ready to be assembled back together.

btw, i ran a 17.02 when i had my F22 auto. i used to like running against slower cars. it made me feel a whole lot better about myself.

That's good. I used to go to the track all the time when I first got my car. I had a good time. Keep it up, it's definitely a fun hobby. You should try take your car to an auto-x session, I bet you'd get more of a thrill by doin that.

reaction time doesnt mean shit. It's all about that 0-60 foot time. Work on it and you can get in the 16's.

yea tru, im honestly not expecting much out of that motor right now. im in the process of saving up for an H22 or H23 motor, but im having so much trouble finding where to get one local. it shouldnt be this hard considering i live in NJ, but maybe im just not asking the right people.
