Ok... I have headers/cat, 2.25 inch pipe and a stock muffler. I feel the power gain and I love it. I decided to go alittle further so I bought a Hayame muffler. After installing it I feel absolutely NO power gain and the sound is pissing me and every1 around my CL off. U guys think itz a good idea to go back to my stock muffler?

I think you should put it back. I don't think a muffler give any gain in hp.

hayame's are those huge coffee can muff right? theu are like running an straight pipe. either go with arospeedthey don't cost to much or with a magnaflow muff try to get one with a silencer.

i was thinking of doing bigger piping with the stock muffler still on but all the places i took it to says its a waste of money. Did you really see any gains compared to stock piping? I think i might do it after all.

Which Hayame muffler do you have? My Type II increased my top speed from 120 to 138+ mph.

Try a top speed run...see if you notice a difference.

For those of u out there that are wondering if increasing the size of the piping actually makes a difference, it actually does a little(at least increasing to 2.25" on my 2.2CL did). Not as much as a header or a straight pipe would do though.

I was on the freeway on my way home just now it was like 2am. A 4th gen accord with a bodykit/moose spoiler/muffler etc. zooms passes me so i decided to tryout my setup. I was going around 80. I shifted into 3rd gear and caught up pretty quickly with the accord. we pulled even for a few sec. and I start pulling away at around 110. I was about 4 car lengths ahead when i hit 125. So There... i guess my muffler helped a little after all... i used ot top out at less then 120.

are you sure he was racing? Whiuch one is the 4th gen? Nice kill by the way.

ya i am sure he's racing. That accord was so loud i can pretty much hear his throttle over my own which is already pissing me off. 4th gen is the 90-93 with f20A engines.
