mounting vafc and gauges
my vafc will be here tomorrow and i was going to go to sears and buy a dremel tool, so I can mount it
PLAN:
1 cut out cigarette lighter and ashtray with dremel tool
2 cut out black plastic and mount vafc in it
what do you guys think????
does the vafc come with a snap ring like most head units do???
it would make the cut invisible then
anyone else done this before?
thanks for the input
oh, i want the cobalt series autometer gauges, anyone seen them?

Dont think the VAFC comes with a mounting ring....never seen one, but bought mine used. All it comes with is a velcroed metal bracket that swivels.
The cig lighter thing is a little more cutting than I like to do on the interior, but go for it and good luck. I'm sure it'll look nice once done.

ok, it came in on friday, and it's alot smaller than i thought.
i looked at cutting just the ashtray out but i dont really like the way it looks without cutting the lighter out too
any suggestions?

just use the velcro and stick in on top of the dash... kinda like a CB radio in a tractor-trailer!!

what about semi-custom-fit in the change holder to the left of the steering wheel... I dunno how big it is, but it may fit...

spent all f-ing day out there,
its in the glove box for now
we deceided to mount it in the wood (plastic) trim above the glove box and wrap carbon fiber around the trim first
it should be done by wednesday because i have a 2 hour slot reserved for my first dyno with this car
anyone going to battle of the imports this weekend at Virginia Motorsports Park ??
