Motor swap? Please help

Does anyone know if I can swap a motor from an Integra GS-R (B18C) into my CL? I have a 97 2.2L 5-spd. I don't think there would be a problem (don't people swap B18Cs into accords?)

With the motor I'd get axles, tranny(all components), and ECU....anything else I'd need? I'm assuming it would fit in the engine bay....my question I guess is more concerning the motor mounts

Please help...Thanks!

i think you would need to get a custom motor mounts because it won't just fit in . . .
why not get an H22? it fits in our cars perfectly and saves you more money. . i'm guessin and has more power!
and a GSR engine in our car doesn't seem like it'll pull -_-''

What about a 3.2 from a 2003 type-s and its 6-speed tranny? I have pretty easy access to both those engines (the 3.2 and the b18c) with all equipment...

^ CL-S will be "worth it" if you have easy access... but IMO its wayy too much of a pain. its like trying to fit a BIG square in hole when theres already a perfect circle there. you get more, but not worth the modification

the frame side of the mounts are in a different position on a 2.2 vs the 3.0 where the j32 (type s motor) would fit. and the interior of the engine bay is larger than the 2.2 because the front x member is more forward by about 2 1/2 inches

If you have the time , patience, and money to do the CL-S 6spd swap do that. The B18 will not move a CL our cars are too heavy for that engine. It's like putting a fat chick on a tricycle

Thanks for the help guys. I did a little more checking a decided it was pointless to try to cram a 3.2 into a 1st gen 2.2CL

I guess 500lbs difference between an integra and a CL is alot? I dunno, I think the B18C1 would be alright still if I turbo it like I plan to...

LEON hows your car on power?

miles on it are like 75k, I'm in Indiana.

I work for a car dealership and we own a garage so I have pretty easy access to just about anything...if the funds are available

yes it is my car...power is sweet! with the swap also did a phantom grip LSD which help alot, especially in the rain...ported head, springs and retainers, str8 pipe (no cat), chipped P28, butterflies removed, 8lb flywheel, no power steering. I'm very pleased with its power...alot of people get shocked when I pull on them.

Yea my swap has ran me $13,000 already and it's been pretty fucking insane with the anount of time my car has been down. Not to mention Aidan has been the only one to pull off the 6 speed swaps. Which means you'd have to go to SoCal to rely on someone who can do the swap with all the bugs worked out. Unless you want to go otherwise...
