More problems for me
i went to the shop to get new brake pads and as they were inspecting it they tell me that my bearings are messed up loose...so now they tell me i have to change my rotors brakes and bearings and that the parts and labor is about 860 all together who else other then me thinks thats a rip off....
im thinking more like
30-50 each bearing
rotors for 2 brembos would be 125
brake pads-50 at the most...
labor-150-200
what do you think bout my math...

I recently had this work done (if you're referring to the fronts).
Good luck with ANYONE who thinks they can do the front rotors and bearings on the '97 without:
A) Shooting your car
B) Shooting yourself
C) Shooting someone at Acura
D) All the Above!!!!
THEY ARE A BITCH!!!!!
I did them (with help) over 2 years ago and will NEVER do them again!
Labor at a shop should be 6 hours at whatever fee they charge. Around here it's about $65.00 per hour. That's about $420 + Bearings (which are about $60.00 each at Honda [higher at Acura]) $120 + Rotors (I assume you already have them, to say that they are $125--mine were more) $125 + Pads (again, I assume you already have them to quote $50--mine were more) $50 = $715.00 plus shop supplies and tax. I would pay no more than $750. However, I can see Acura charging more than what I quoted above. My work was done at a Honda dealer. I think Acura wants about $25 more (per piece) for the bearings. Also, I bet their labor charge is more.
Keep in mind that the front rotors on the '97 are pressed on. Also the bearings are pressed into the rotors. This is easily 2-3 times the labor of the '98/'99 front brakes!
EDIT: I originally asked a performance shop to change my front rotors and pads. THEY COULD NOT DO IT!!!!!!! They were not dummies, either. They dropped in my new engine in less than 2 days, and I've never had a problem with it!
