Megan Headers

I remember Klepto or someone had a problem with the bolts cracking on megan headers, not sure if it was just that specific header or their products in general. I have a chance to buy a CAI and Megan headers for $80.

Whatchu think?

They are my headers and intake. The header is not cracked and as long as you dont bolt up the mount at the back of the engine it will not crack. For those people who have had them crack its most likely due to old motor mounts that flex and having the mount bolted to the back of the engine. Im only selling all this stuff because I prefer my car stock.

good to see yer on A-Z.

what do you mean dont bolt them up to the mount at the back of the engine... i've never really looked at my headers, wasnt aware they bolted to anything but the ehaust valves.

the lower half bolts on right at the half shaft. I took the bracket off and didnt use that mount....the exaust system needs to flex....and so far........no issues. Heres a pic of what they look like. Its been about a year so far from what ive been told and they look new !!!

sorry i really suck.. you think you could like circle the spot you're talking about in MS paint or something lol. i guess i would only bolt them on at the top couple bolts right where the exhaust comes out... thats what you're saying, right?

ok, the header is in two peices. Theres the upper half which bolts onto the head, then the lower half which goes into the cat. The lower half has a flange/plate you use to hang and bolt it on to a piece that has two bolts extruding were the halfshaft is....you cant miss it. You'll see it when you take off your old exhaust ( because its used to secure it ) but you DO NOT need it. I removed the bracket all together

gotcha... and the lack of this bracket should prevent any cracking?

klepto, did you have this bracket attatched?

theres a good chance he did. You cant have the bracket in without the lower half of the header being hanged and if its hanging on the bolts...there going to be bolted down because nobody likes rattly exhaust. I took the assembly off and i love it. Nice amount of flex and no leaks, cracks nada.

but then most likely everything will rattle. i broke that bracket when i severly bottomed-out. and mine rattles when i take turns, etc. at least that what i think is rattling, its def not my heatshield.

yea i had that bracket attached. but the first problem I had wasnt that. the first problem was that they didnt line up straight into the cat. maybe if i didnt bolt up that bracket it would have

but stupid me i paid for a shop to cut and reweld it straight, then the fucking bracket ripped off a big ass hole in my exhaust i got pics of all of it on mny other comp.

It probably would have fit if you loosened the bolts on the o2 pipe, bolted it all up loosely, then tightened everything down.

well, i bought both today... im gonna go get new gaskets at Honda tomorrow morning, maybe install the headers tomorrow evening. gonna try it without the bracket
i installed the CAI right when i got back from buying it... sounds fucking MEAN. i love it. i had been running ghetto exhaust for a while (unbolted resonater ) so i hooked up the piping back to stock so i could hear the intake do its thing... sounds great. next is installing the headers, and then comes full exhaust.

i know you guys might not like to hear this, but i think im gonna go with an angled apex'i can like subys and evos i know it looks good on most hondas, still deciding on how i want the exhaust to look. kinda sick of the mag 14815s and 16s.
