Man, Fuck! Paint problems....and should I repaint?

It seems like every problem that a Cl could have is in my car. After trying to debadge the 'Acura' emblem, the glue remained. Since the emblem was only held on by two little pieces of glue at the edges, all the other glue was exposed to the elements. I just back from the detailer and they were able to get most of it out, but they said some of it is in the clear coat now....What the fuck should I do now? I may take it to a body shop and have them wet sand that shit.

On a related note, I'm sick of this black Acura paint. Acura paint is bad enough as it is, but being black (the paint I mean) makes it way hard to clean.

How much does a basic paint job cost? I mean pulling all the dings and dents, doing a very good prep job, and then hitting the car and door jambs with a nice silver paint. Or maybe pearl white...Help me out here guys.

Oh, to top it off a bird took a nice crap on my fresh detailed car. WTF? I seriously am going to kill somebody, burn my car, and then paint it silver....then go to jail.

Must be that time of year...

Acura Black paint is some of the shittiest paint I have ever seen, I can't tell you how well I tried to take care of it and it always looked like shit unless it was late in the afternoon. My buddy is a detailer and he finally gave up on my car. He said honda black paint is the worst he's ever seen.

I had a bird shit on my new paint while in class, it was on for an hour and totally ate away at the paint :bash:

I think I may just get it repainted altogether. Is 2800-3500 dollars a reasonable estimate for getting the car painted, door jambs and all, dents pulled, lip mounted with paint, and getting the wood grain painted as well?

Also, how could I get insurance to cover some of it? I mean legally, here.....

yea, the guys that painted my car got 2800 and they hit all the jams, etc. Even repainted under neath the fabric in the trunk, etc.

don't know how you could legally get insurance to cover it. My car was vandalized.

I guess I'll have to wait and see. All in all, is it easier to clean with a lighter color and a different brand of paint? Silver is easy as all hell to keep clean...so is white. But black and Acura don't mix well....

I never had any problems with acura paint, and still dont. the main thing is, you have to take care of it, just like anything else. and 2800- 3500 sounds reasonable.

Well, their black wasnt the best, and wasnt the worst. The worst paint i've seen recently have been on like 98-01 Expeditions and F150's. that paint is absolutely horrendous.

yeah they do everything...its normally like a $800 job or something, but my friend is the guy's friend and is hookin me up

Sand, Primer, 2 color coats, 3 clear coats

paints everything except under the carpet in the trunk cuz its too much work to remove everything, then do it.

He's gonna give me extra paint incase I feel like doing it oneday

How about getting the car resprayed black, albeit a different brand of paint? What I mean is, getting the car painted the same color, but with the bodyshop blending the paint from a different brand, like dupont?

All I can say to CLpower about the black is fucking WORD!
