making smoked taillights CA legal
I ordered the smokes the other day from Rockblocker, but I was reading here that they were illegal on the streets of Cali because they block the reflectors. Anywayz I did some research and the law on reflectors is here: http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d12/vc24607.htm
Basically you gotta have two rear red reflectors. But there's a secret loophole in the law!!
"24607 (f) Area reflectorizing material may be used in lieu of the reflectors required or permitted in subdivisions (a), (b), (c), (d), and (e), provided each installation is of sufficient size to meet the photometric requirement for those reflectors."
So smokes are legal as long as you put some reflector stickers on the back of your car, size doesn't matter as long as they are visable from 350 to 100 feet when illuminated at night.
Im probably gonna put some small strip of reflector sticker below my lights so I can give a big
to the po when they pull my azz over.

that pic is just too funny, i could see a soccer mom drivin a cl with some big ass reflectors, and baby on-board stickers.
