Low budget-High performance....

I own a stock Acura CL 2.2 A/T and would like to know where to start to make the car a little faster. Intake system? Exhaust system? Engine work? I have about $1,000 to spend, and would like to get the most bang for the buck. I work at Mercedes-Benz of Tampa, and am able to most of the modifacations myself.

Cam regrind 216/230 duration or something close to that (www.webcamshafts.com , delta cams, etc.) (~375), adjustable cam gear (80-200), Apexi VAFC2 (300?), Intake (75), header (200), and a tune(?)

thats ~$1100 + tuning and installation for the stuff you wont do yourself.

you might want to add a fuel pressure regulator and maybe some other stuff, but this is a good start. do some research if you decide to go this route

Thats really good advice. BUt i think the 1st thing should be an auto to manual swap. It should be a lot less than a grand if all the labor is free

Low budget and high performance usually dont go together but yeah I agree with the auto to manual swap.

I wouldn't waste my money on a swap, *UNLESS I was willing to spend a lot more to make it even faster. If it were me right now, I would save up another grand, and get a turbo kit, or beef up the motor like someone else mentioned.
