Question Loud Droning Noise from AirCon (AC)

First of all, I just got my '97 3.0 CL and I'm quite impressed. The drive is so smooth I actually can tolerate rush hour!

Anyway, I have a loud "droning" noise coming from the a/c whenever the car takes heavy vibration or even if I do a sweeping left turn.

Turn off the climate control and the noise goes away. Turn on the climate control and no noise until the next vibration or turn.

Any ideas anyone?

Refridgerant low? How is the a/c output? Should be around 45 degrees. It might be that you have a loose or damaged cooling fan or blower motor. Since you mentioned vibration and turning.

Sometimes when mine comes on, it makes a steam pipe "rrruuuuussshhhhh" sound, but the output is good, I figure it is the expansion of the refrigerent.

somthing in your cabin fan there is realy no reason that your ac would make any noise when turning or anything along that point. WHen you turn it must be going into the correct spot to make the noise. Good call wilp

I would tell you to check your belts but there is no reason it would do this. This is almost your only way it can do somthing like this unless your describing it wrong inwhich I dotn think you are its pretty common that this happens. When I was a kid I put some bang snaps in my pops vent and everyone in awhile they would fall down into the blower and then pop! He was scared to drive his truck for a month,........hope this helps any more problems feal free to pm me we will help you all we can

Cool, thanks for your input. I'll have to get there and check it out. I just wasn't sure if it was a major or minor thing.
