Looking for first-gen stock AM/FM/CD (Bose pref.)
The factory radio in my '98 3.0 CL went dead. I tried getting one on Ebay, but got screwed. If you have one to sell (or know where I can get one cheap), let me know! I would prefer the Bose model, but that may be the same as the standard as far as the radio goes.

the stock radio in the 1st gens is made by panasonic. The bose and non bose units are basically the same, except for the output section... the bose unit gives out a very low level signal, where the non bose unit has a built in amp to drive the speakers directly.
A non-bose unit will work with the stock bose amp, but you'll get a lot of feedback.

Wow...Thanks for the quick responses, everyone!
I was thinking of getting an aftermaket head unit, but it would be at least $150 for a decent one. However, the aesthetics would not match, I would lose the steering-wheel audio controls, and my $250 factory cassette option would be useless I can at least use the cassette to connect my IPOD. The FM transmitters are nice, but they don't really work for me...it's impossible to find an empty FM channel anywhere near a major city!
Plus, a factory radio can be had for $30 - $50 used, which is good enough for me, and I'd rather save a hundred bucks. I did not know there was an output level difference between the "standard" and "premium" radios...thanks for the info!!!!
I'm currently trying to work out a deal with another Ebay guy that has a Bose unit....(that was the first response I got...so I guess he's got dibs). If that falls through, I'll buy one through this discussion board.
Thanks again for the responses, everyone!!!
