Looks like I blew the head gasket and it'd be chyeaper to just get another engine as opposed to shaving the cylinder head, new hg, labor, etc. Anyone in the CT/MA area have one? Let me know, thanks

i just sold my F23A1 to some kid like 3 months ago. i would have rather have sold it to you, cuz the kid was a real douche bag.

 

f23 wouldnt have worked on my tranny anyways, but thanks for the sentiment lol just out of curiosity how much did you sell it for?

just cuz you blew your headgasket doesnt mean all is lost, depending of the damage it caused afterwards of course.

 

you should get a h22 if your going to get a new motor.

 

h22 = 2grand (w/labor)
F23 = 1grand (w/labor)

 

I have someone who can do the swap for cheap, and with labor, head shaving, and gasket set it will probably cost more than to just swap the motor.

 

yea just get a new f23, ull save urself a LOT of headaches and $$

 

When I look through the junkyard ones, they say f23 with ULEV or without ULEV, what does that mean and which one can i use?

 

Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle... couldn't tell ya if there would be a problem with using either one.

 

I am finding both at really good prices so i should be able to grab the non-ulev if its an issue. Engine wouldnt come with exhaust manifold I assume and I only have one for an f22, that won't fit will it?

ok, but does it matter which one I put in my car? Will the ecu be screwed up if i put an f23 into a car with an f22 ecu?

ULEV started in 99 to 02. 98 accords were LEV. i cant see this being an issue, im pretty sure that those classifacations have nothing to do with the ECU, but i could be wrong.

 

I had a bet going with myself how many posts it would take b4 someone said this, I had 7, you got 8 I guess I was still close
