Lockup solenoid and torque converter are bad!
So i spoke with a tranny guy at the Honda service dept. and he told me that the solenoid that locks up the transmission when you are in park is what is wrong with my tranny. He also said that the torque converter is shot to shit! The TC costs $612.76 from Honda and the solenoid costs $374.86! Such theifs!. Anyway. He also advised me that since this is happening, that the cluthes are almost gone that that they should be replaced too since i will be taking the tranny out to replace the solenoid and the TC. So, im looking at a nice cost of around $1200 to fix this entire thing. Maybe more........
They gave me the number to Honda to see if they can do anything for me going along with prices, but you never know since the car is out of warranty (118500 miles) and it has a branded title. This should NOT have any effect on the tranny if you ask me. They should look into what happend to the car to see if it caused the TC to go...

that lock up solenoid doesent lock up the tc when you go into park.. it keeps the rpm's and fluid pressure reletive to each other. kind of like if you have a ford that has o/d off switch.. that switch disengages the lock up clutch. making it raise fluid pressure. when its on it matches the pressure with rpm's and loweres pressure makin it feel like its in a different gear. i would just replace the sensor first, see what happens.. theres no way to tell whats wrong with the tc just by the tdc code from the ecu. do a stall test. put the car in drive put your foot on the brake and gas at the same time dont floor it but the t/c will lock up at around 2400-2500 rpm's. if it goes higher than 2550 then you have problems but if it stays below it but not lower than 2400 your good. no need to replace the tc.

See the other thing is that he did tell me that the solenoid is bad if it sometimes feels like you are going over "rumble strips" when your not. I have felt this before.
Another amazing thing this tranny is doing (only when completly cold) is when it tries to go from first to second on its own, the car just stops without reason. Engine doesnt stall, it keeps running but it doesnt go above 1500 RPM no matter how much you have your foot on the gas. The tranny locks up and then shifts into second then goes again... sometimes happens between 2nd and 3rd. Not very safe for my rear end if you ask me...
Another thing that he told me was that hard shifts where it jerks every gear (which mine is doing) is another sign that one or both are shot
Im going to check the TC and see what happens. I forgot about this test. I read about it in the helms manual back when i first got the thing.
Now is all of this true or did he just give me more bullshit?

Sounds like the tranny's definately toast. When my tranny went, it was doing the same things. The cold 1st and second was what made me take it in. Then paid 3 grand for a rebuild. :rippedoff

sounds alot more like the linear solenoid. getting the whole thing replaced will eliminate any nickel and diming of the sensors. but see what the code was for. the tranny codes are usually straight forward.

P0740 was the code with TCC Circuit Malfunction after it; and the guy at the stealership said:
"Its something internally wrong with the transmission please hold I will get the tranny Tech guy."
And this is where he told me about the TC, the Solenoid, and the clutches.

First I would recommend replacing the TCC solenoid as thats the easiest to do.
If that does not fix the P0740 code then replace your torque converter with a reman unit.
That will most likely fix the code. If not then your trans needs rebuilt.
