Lights

My 98 has a situation, that when I put my foot on the brakes and turn on the turn signal, my lights begin to fluctuate. All of the lights including those on the dash. The headlights do it so much so that cars on coming think that I am flashing my lights at them. I took it to the Acura dealer and they said this is a common problem with CL's. Does anyone out there have a similar problem?
I believe that I have a short somewhere and they do not want to deal with it.

yeah mine does that too! not the headlights, i dont think! but the instrument lights do, but only the ones in the guage panel. not sure what causes it or have a fix. but if my headlights start doing it i will definitely be taking a trip to the dealership!

How's your alternator? How's your battery? If all your lights are flickering, it is probably not a fuse, but possibly a bigger power issue. Depending on the life of your battery, you may want to try a new one. You may want to get your alternator tested to make sure it's operating correctly.

MINE DID THAT ALSO INCLUDING THE HEADLIGHTS. THE DEALER FIXED IT, I THINK THEY SAID IT WAS THE SWITCH/PLUG COMING FROM THE ALT. MINE WAS UNDER WARRANTY SO I DO NOT KNOW HOW MUCH TO FIX.

The dealer changed the altenator, however the battery has a green bubble light on top of it that says it should light during charging. It does not glow green. Maybe it is the battery.

that little green indicator is not a light... its just a level indicator showing the battery's condition... if its dark or hard to see the green, then your battery may be on its way out... but it does not actually light up.
