Is parking on the opposite side of the street illegal?

My friends always tell me not to do it when I joke about it, I guess it is a violation. My friend lives on a one way street, parking on the left side is always awkward

 

i didn't get a ticket for it... but i'm just wondering... i like walking out to my car with it facing me on my side of the curb! But tomorrow i'll change my parking ways back to normal...

 

It all depends on how the cops are where you live. I live in a residential neighbor hood and park however I want. I've never gotten a ticket.

 

Check your city or town's regulations on it. Most places dont care, some do and will fine you.

i got a ticket for parking the wrong direction. $55!! bitches!

 

REALLY? i thought its only illegal if there is a double solid yellow. or dashed yellow line in the middle its illegal. I park like that ALL the time, never got a ticket.. Maybe my city is nice..

try doing that in nyc. ull have your car on a tow in a snap
philly on the other hand they allow it with no prob

 

Just depends on how big a of a hard-on the cop is. Or you could get it if a neighbor complains.
