New Deck Setup!

well, i bought my deck back from the impound lot, my subs and amp are still in there, but i got the deck (see story here )

i went to an audio shop, and they wanted $80 to install, so i said fuck that, and did a custom ghetto install, and i decided to keep the pocket thingy. It looks alot cleaner than the gaping hole you have when you get the kit install thing at the circuit citys and whatnot. so this is my setup till i can afford a DVD screen

lemme know what you think of the ghetto install!

did you fasten the deck to the pocket? or did you mont them seperatly? looks good for the most part, on the last pic it looks like theres a little gap..is it the pic or no trim ring?

they're seperate. it's a little bit wobbly. its really ghetto. lets just say theres alot of wood and duct tape involved haha. i think it just looks like theres a gap cuz the CD thing is open. it's just like this temporarily as i see a DVD/navi screen in the near future.

get 2 pieces of backstrap (the sheet metal thingy that comes in the box with the deck). fasten them on both on each side of the deck and then to the pocket it wont be so wobbley...or ge the 15.00 install kit from best buy(clips in very easy)
