leather seats
leather seats
whats up guys, I am able to buy leather seats for my 97 CL....the seats are in overall good condition...with a small tiny tear on driver seat (can be fixed). It will cost me $340 for all the seats....do you guys think its worth it?

but hell yeah i like leather alot better than cloth. doesnt burn as easily as cloth(im a smoker) and if you drop some mustard on it(i eat in my car too) wipe it right off with a napkin. just dont wear shorts in the summer or your legs will stick to the seats. another bad thing is it will tend to wrinkle or crease over time. and if you dont armorall it, itll get dry and crack. all nice things require maintenance tho.
Get the leather, but stay away from ArmorAll (ok for dash and door pannels, not for seats). You need to get a good leather lotion. But, if you have tan leather... make sure the lotion is white (not brown like mink oil). If you don't, it will dull or darken the leather's color. The problem with ArmorAll is that it tends to dry out the leather if you don't use it often enough. I suggest using a glove leather lotion, like you would use on a jacket or boots.
I love the leather in my car, and on summer days, you just gotta make sure you don't let it sit in direct sun because it can get pretty hot. By the way, are the seats heated? If so, you may need to find the right connection points to get them hooked up... be careful though, it isn't like a lighted dash kit. You have to install the relays correctly or you will melt the harness.
Take care, and enjoy your new-to-you leather.

So sliding around in the seat after you armor all'd them didnt give you a hint?
i don't know if you guys know but our seats are mostly vinyl, not leather. the only leather is in the middle portion.
i just found out this past weekend when i took my car to the upholstery shop to get a hole in my driver seat patched...
btw that's a good deal for the seats if u can score that
