The time has come for me...

I recently got a job doing pizza delivery, and I also got a job in the mobile department at Best Buy. I raised the CL about an inch to be able to get around for my deliveries, but I feel like a change is needed. I'm going to part the CL out, selling the car stock to get it sold easier and buying like a civic hatch or just keeping the CL stock as a beater for deliveries.

Since I'll be working both jobs, I'll have some decent money coming in, so I'll also be buying a newer Lexus or maybe even a TSX or TL as my main bitch.

I love the CL and it will always have a spot in my heart. It was my very first car, and is what opened doors for me in the modding scene, but I want an upgrade to something newer. The best part about owning the CL for these past 2+ years is that no one had the slightest clue as to what it was. Everyone thought it was a TL or a Legend. I won't have this same reaction with anything else, that's for sure.

I'm going to miss everyone on here, and I want to thank everyone for bearing with me over these years with the silly questions I had. I haven't done much to it over the last 6 months except drop it a little more a few weeks ago, and I JUST retrofitted projectors on Monday, before I had known I got these jobs.

I'll be posting a part thread in the for sale section once I get parts off, so if anyone's interested look out for that.

I hope my CL, any threads I created or questions I had in my time here, have helped others with their cars. I just want to leave knowing I made a difference for someone and with everyone's blessing. I hope I don't anger anyone with my decision, but I feel like if it were ever time to move on, it'd be logical to do it now. Let the 's come. Lol.

Seriously... I saw my fair share of people leave over my time. I can't imagine how repetitive this gets for you older members.

im going on 6 in January. dunno when i can upgrade as well.

 

I've had a CL for 8 between my Titanium Metallic and Flamenco Black. Hasn't been running since Oct 09 though which will soon change.

 

I honestly feel sad; the 1G forum is dyin down slowly..

 

As a new punk, it is sad to see a wealth of knowledge leave. I promise to be an active member, but in no way can I make up the loss of a vet.

PS- I'm only coming up on a year of ownership hah. I will own it as long as I can, I'M IN LOVE WITH MY CL!!!!

I hear ye on that!!! Had mine for a minute!!! was a go to school, work and back car! But now after all that workin got it hooked up and turned into wut it is now.. but moved and no more garage... and extra spare car to get around... so its retired show car now.. oh wells

 

I wanted to say the same thing. I tend to lurk over on the 1G CL forum from time to time over from the 3G TL side; and I jus say to myself; "damn what the hell happened". I feel like this part of the forum used to be more active..
IDK; then it might be because there's so many ppl at the 3G section; there is always new threads..

 

There's definitely not as many people on here modding 1G CL's anymore, but there's still some of us here

Maybe is the stupid 3.0 transmission and firewall issued preventing a 5 or 6 sp tranny to go in! Good like! I just got mine 2 weeks ago lol!

 

We can make this section interesting.. There are a lot of good and upcoming cars in this section but, the pics aren't being posted on a regular basis...

Same here dude. The cl is becoming a dying breed

 

I have had my CL for ... dam,11 years.

 

The other day I went to my local junkyard, to see if they had a coin tray for my CL. All the years I have owned this car, I have never got a coin tray for it. I come across 2 CL's black like mine. Windows busted, stripped left for dead. To see the car in such condition. It puts things into perspective seeing cars like that. You cant help but think your car could end up there one day.

 

It was fun while it lasted though....I kept my CL as a daily driver and the knowledge on here will keep it doing for a long time. Any performance parts will be for the new car.

 

The first gen CL always has a special place in my heart..
To this day, I have done more mods to that CL than any of my other cars combined.
Couldn't have asked for a better car to start my modding journey.

Im really so sad to come back here after a few months and see this trend...i dont think i wouldve ever let my CL go if I didnt have too
