is keyless entry standard? because my CL didnt come with any remotes when i bought it, and if they are is there any place i can get the remotes besides ebay?

Yah it comes with an unlock/lock/trunk remote.

Try craigslist or ebay. Maybe someone on here has an extra one-someone with an aftermarket alarm system.

Yes, it comes with a remote that unlocks/locks and opens the trunk. As far as I know, that is.

Hah wow, they go for like $25 at the end of the auction. That's pretty pricey for a tiny damn remote.

 

$30 with shipping......the dealer tried to get me to buy one for $80!!

 

i got mine at a junk yard for $15
maybe i was lucky
i dont use mine currently but i have a feeling i might need it one day

 

hmm maybe i should try the junk yard, i didnt know they would carry them

 

they have the keys for the cars sitting around
most of the time they have the remotes with them
the remotes can be programmed to ack within the specs

 

how might I program these? My remote went dead or so I thought. I replaced the battery and the little red light STAYS on. Can't do anything to turn it off. Tried my 'other' remote, and same issue with a new battery.

the CL remotes sell at fairly high prices because they're pretty rare. However, certain accord and civic remotes will work too and can usually be found cheaper (good for a spare). The CL remote FCC ID is: A269ZUA108, when you search ebay, search titles and descriptions. The Accord remote that will work for the CL is: A269ZUA101 and the civic remote is: A269ZUA106, although the civic remotes do not have a trunk button.

 

Make sure its the proper battery (CR2025) and that its installed correctly, the "flat" side of the battery (+ mark) should be to the back of the remote... the "button" side of the battery goes to the button side of the remote.
