whenever i open my doors the light never turns on, however the bulb isnt blown or whatever because when i switch it to on it turns on and its just a hassle at night and yes the switch is on to where it should turn on when doors are open but it wont, whats wrong?

 

See if your door switch is stuck.

another problem is when i went to my friends house hes got a 97 3.0 and when he open his doors his lights turn on. Whenever he pushes unlock on his key fob the lights inside the car turn on (dome and also the lights outside the license plate) same thing happens when he pushes the key to lock, the lights on the inside turns off and everything? is this exclusive on the 3.0? and not on a 2.2? or is there anything wrong with my car or how the wires or any electrical circuits busted? fuses blown? i've checked everywehre, its just a hassle that I deal with when i go out at night and it looks coooooool any help would be appreciated



something interesting about his 3.0 is that he has cloth (havent seen many cl's with cloth)

 

do u still have the alarm chirp when armed? what about when u disarm?

I have a 97 2.2 and my lights come on when I diasrm my car. So it's not just for 3.0's

 

yeah that is a standard feature...unlock with the fib interior lights come on and the "parking lights (including the license lights) blink. to me it sounds like a fuse. you would pretty much have to check them all since I don't have an owners manual in front of me to give you some possible tries. And when joeschmo said your door switch he was referring to the littel switch on the door frame, the one that activates the interior lights when the door is open.

I have a 97' 2.2 CL and the dome light doesn't work on it either (sometimes)...It's not the bulb or the door switch but I'm not sure what it is. Seems like every time I try to fix it, it starts working again before I find the prob. You're not alone crzle21
