i got a good question for ya..........im planin on dying all my leather....i see you've done everything but the leather......whats your plans there.......also, looks good so far! keep it up
I went and bought some very expensive vinyl dye but that actually wasn't the best. I am very picky and like things to look original and stock so this is why I decided to test a few products. The best dye I seemed to use was the vinyl color from discount autoparts. It seeps right into the stock vinyl and even gives it a OEM shine. On the hard plastics it stick realy well but with a forceful scratch it will scrape the black off......So i used a adhesive that kinda adds some teeth to the texture and then sprayed the dye on. You can find this clear adhesive at any warehouse type paint specialist storefront. The wood was sanded and painted with a metalic flake grey. Invest in a black and decker mouse sander. This tool is your friend when doing such products. About 8 coats of grey and 8 coats of clear coat. Actually, I sprayed the shit out of the panels with clear. Take your time and it will come out lookin great. The only thing I couldn't do was keep the DAM dust particals off the paint but that is difficult unless having some drop clothes ans an enclosed area.
I wouldn't suggest dying the leather but replacing it. I tried spraying the armrest a little but as you can see in the pics I stopped. It didn't look that great and I just imagined myself going out somewhere and someone asking me what that black stuff was stained all the way down my clothes and body.
Sorry for the long reply...........Tryin to be informative...=)
All in all, the project was fun but took some time. When it's done I am sure I will be proud of a job well done. So far it looks fuckin HOT!!!!!!!!! Nobody I know thought it would come out so good.

OEM's aren't that accurate usually, and honda's tachs are usually 400 or so RPM off

- Rustoleum Metallic Grey Paint
- Rustoleum Clear.
I can't find the can for the adhesive. All you have to do is talk to someone at an interior or specialty painty shop and tell them that you are dying hard plastic in your car and you need something that will lay some teeth into the material.

Hell yeah... How did you spray the top of the dash, near the tweater? Is the Vinyl Dye a spray or do you use a brush to apply the dye? That dash looks soooooo nice! I love it! You're inspiring me to do that to mine.
I took every bit of my interior out of the car. That's the only way to get it lookin sweet.
It's less of a project then it seems. Just have all the tools and supplies needed and it could take a couple days. Most the screws, nuts, bolts in a honda are exactly the same. It's not that hard to remember where they all go.

Most leather is painted not dyed. I have not seen any product that will work very well on leather that has already been colored. It just will not wear well. Good luck!

With charcoal it would be so easy. You don't even need the adhesive because if it scratches it will be a dark color underneath......I tested the shit out mine and the only reason it scratched because I purposely tested it like it stole money from me. Just to see what it would hold before I even started this whole project.
Bro, let me know if your gonna do it.
I'm gonna try to get pics of the cans I used so all you guys have a visual when you go to the store.
