Insurance....
Hey guys, I just bought an 1999 Acura 2.3 CL and got a insurance quote from Nation Wide for 1600 a year on the car. I'm 19 and this is the first car Ive bought. How much do you guys pay for car insurance?
$300 / 6mo, full-coverage, $250 deduct w/ state farm. I was paying $1000+ / 6mo for a Camry when I was 16. Damn those special accident rates. Starting at age 21, the insurance rate drops like a champ annually.
Ya to bad I had to renue my insurance this month, If I could have waited till Sept that At Fault would have droped off my insurance record and Im sure the price would have droped atleast $20-30 a month. Ah well, gotta wait for next year.

Yeah my first 3 months are $198USD/month then it's 154.. A couple years ago I backed my mom's car into a guy in the wendy's drive through.. No damage on my mom's SUV, but I screwed the front of his car up.. That's a contributing factor I guess.
I'm 32 and I pay $912 a year for full coverage. That's vehicle not driven to work and only 10,000 km a year.
Your quote sounds like a pretty good deal for someone who's 19. If you had a Civic, Integra or Prelude it would be a lot more than that. Make sure it's not so cheap that they'll give you a harder time if you do have to make a claim.

I understand Calgary is expensive among Alberta urban centers, there's a lot of theft rings active in this town now.

You're lucky, try $3900, $325 a month in Boston. I shat up my driving record when I was 16 though and It's just strating to come down now, 5 years later...actually, just lost 4 points on my record last week. So maybe ill get down to $3000 a year now...damn, basically all my money goes to driving a damn car now....craptastic.
