Injector Cleaner & Tranny Cooler?
Hey Guys:
Hope someone has the right info on this. Props to niedejb for all the help with my fuel light.
I read somewhere that the best way to ensure that our 3.0 Trannies keep slushing along is to install an extra-large tranny cooler and change the fluid more often. Sounds logical, but where the hell do you buy an extra large tranny cooler for a 1998 3.0 CL? And how often should you change the fluid?
Also, I'm gonna clean my injectors this weekend, can anyone credibly vouch for one brand of cleaner over the other? Should I get it professionally done or just buy something from the store and pour it in the tank?
Thanks again guys, cheers

actually, you don't want an extra large tranny cooler. The one for our cars is the smallest ones hayden and B&M make. You can find them at any auto parts store. And i recommend changing your tranny fluid about every 10K

I use BG fuel injector cleaner. Its supposedly the best. One of my friends got it for me, he works at a car dealer. They charge $20 for one treatment. I used it and it seem to work great.

Redline makes a great concentrated fuel system cleaner. Or find a jobber store and buy the 3m fuel injector cleaning kit garages use and charge 49.99 for. I think it sells for about 20-25 bucks and comes with directions.

Oh and about that adding atf to your gas, that shit will make the car smoke like a freight train. I've heard of adding atf to the engine oil to help find leaks and clean out the motor but adding it to the fuel don't sound legit.

Guys over at the accordv6.com have a faq item covering tranny coolers. Most of them have used Hayden 403 or 677 models.
Its also a good place to share/discover info on our V6 engine.
