I went to the other side

The insurance company totalled my car out and gave me about $6,000 for it, plus 700 for the rims and the tint. (State farm) So I set out to find a new car looking at various Monte Carlo's and Grand Prix's that everyone has and wasn't really feelin it. I'm kinda picky after the CL and only wanted a luxory car. Luckly I found a clean Lexus GS400 from an old man for only $10,000. It's SUPER fast compared to the 2.2 CL and also a good ride. I got the tints yestorday 20% front and 5% rear, it looks sick. Will post pics after it gets out the shop (putting subs and radio in). By the way, I still miss my CL.

GS400.. Isn't that the 4.3L V8 300hp? Definitely, won't be complaining about lack of power. Good find.

Gs400 is the 4.0 L v8, but it did have 300 hp. The # at the end gives you the L size 400 = 4.0L, 430= 4.3L. The 4.3 had an extra 15 ft/lb of torque but same peak hp.

We've had a few lexus' in the family so I'm familiar with them. Right now (as of two weeks ago) though we are currently all honda/acura.

GS 400's are sweet. I've had my GS 300 for about 6 months It's a great car but, I wish it had more performance. I've been toying with the idea of adding the SRT Stage 2 turbo kit ($6,000), it should put down around 350whp. There's not a lot of aftermarket FI support for the 400 and what there is, is pricey. The 400 is great out of the box though, as I'm sure you've realized already. Do you have any plans for the car as far as performance? Are you on Club Lexus? http://www.clublexus.com/forums/index.php

Here's the two websites that have best support for the GS IMO

http://www.l-tunedparts.com/index.php

http://www.bulletproofautomotive.com...ry.php?make=36

If you have any questions, ask.

BTW, what year, body color, interior color, and mileage do you have?

Wow, i'm sorry to hear about your car getting damaged that bad. But glad to hear you come out of it with nice change for another car, and your health. I read you have a child, I hope he wasn't in the car. Well good luck with the new car!

I am on club lexus but haven't particapated in any of the forums. I have a 1998 Silver with tan interior with about 149,000 which is alot but it still runs GREAT. VERY CLEAN.

They didn't finish installing my subs because they have to rewire the factory amp but I should have it tonight to take pics.
