I went from 19 to 30 mpg! pics of msd wires also

in the past i was getting about 19mpg and 400 miles to the tank.
-switched to aem v2 over v1 cai up to 24 mpg
-got new plugs, indexed them, and put new msd wires 29mpg with ac on for about 80 miles
-so with ac off i should be easily getting 30mpg on the highway. thats more then the sticker on the car when it was new and its a 97! i havent filled up yet from todays pa meet, but i got 260miles on half a tank when i used to get 240 on 3/4 tank! ill update you when i get a msd igntion and coil. im hoping to get 35mpg. then use the $$$ saved on gas for more toys.

heres pics of the wire. it was a little tricky getting them to look nice like oem becuase they were longer. i had to run them on the opposite side.

and as far as resistance the longest msd wire was about 89 ohms while my longest oem wire was 17,000 ohms!!!!!

If you are measuring till the gas light comes on, it's 14 gallons (if your gas light works right).

He said 400 miles to a tank, at 19mpg, which doesn't seem possible.

Mike: whats up from switching from the blue theme i thought you were doing with the engine bay???

would you get this same response from a 3.0? cause i would love to increase my gas milage all that i can

i have plugs and ngk wires

would the intake make that much of a difference? and then the wires? and plugs? i dont know

Mike: Have a good easter and i will call you on Monday and let you know on the ballasts for that guy, i might just pick them up for myself but not too sure yet

Hi!

I would appreciate some advice from you all. I need to change the spark plug wires on our 1997 Acura 2.2. Are these wires on eBay auction good?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33692

They seem a bit pricier than others listed, but the seller seems to have many of them, so I figured he probably knows what he is doing.

Thanks,

Z

I can get 400 miles to the tank if i go mostly freeway and I got 2.3 5 speed..... I don't know why your cars get so shitty gas mileage.

You 3.0 guys need to do some engine maintenance or something. I'm getting 330-350 miles per tank now (yay regular gas again) with a serious lead foot. I'm still sporting stock plugs/wires @ 75K miles and a stock airbox.

ur right about the math 19 doesnt add up to 400. that was a estimate and the 19 was a mix of highway and reg so it was prob like 22 highway

the rest is actual fill up after getting off the highway driving 240 miles. sorry fir not specifing. but the botom line is my milage is way up after changing the plugs, indexing them, and new wires. the v2 also changed my milage for whatever reason. im just amazed im getting better gas milage then on the sticker when the car was new 7 yrs ago and 80000 miles ago
