i think somebody tried to break into my car
I just went to clean my interior and I noticed on the passenger side that the weather stripping right above my door handle is completely pushed down. I began to pull it back up and I see that the weather stripping is actually torn up pretty bad and its no longer attached to my door. It's like somebody was fiddling around there for a while trying to get my door open...
I'm not sure when this could have happened because I don't frequent my passenger side. My gf is the only one who goes over there and she probably wouldn't even notice if my door was missing, she'd just think how great it was that she didn't have to open the door...
My dad said that it could be from it being so hot that the rubber melts and when I lower my window, it pulls the rubber down. I find this hard to believe since it was basically ripped off RIGHT above my door handle and its all sorts of messed up now. What do you guys think?

Nom Nom Nom Nom
What is your girl doing opening up her own door anyways... HMMMM...j/k
That sounds like someone def. tried to break into your car. Anyone that knows anything about breaking into our cars (accords) knows that the easiest way is to pry the window out enough to unlock it. If done right, you can do it without even breaking anything...
Only reason I know this is because thats how my first (97) accord was broken into.

Thats how we got the keys that were locked into this one girls car, we had to pry open the door and slip a close hanger down to unlock it.

i realize that...
but come on, it's not difficult to pry a piece of rubber off the window..
if someone's trying to break into my car, they're probably getting in there... a piece of rubber sure as hell isn't stopping them.

I've been thinking and the only place out of the ordinary that I've been is Somerville, NJ. That's the only place it could have possibly happened. I stopped to grab a father's day card real fast on Saturday night but I got held up in the store for a good 10 minutes. My car was alone in the parking lot but I didn't see anybody around...it's the only thing I can think of. I guess they didn't have enough time to get it open? Maybe got interrupted somehow?
edit: Oh, and that's the ONLY time I've ever left my Ipod in my car unattended...so it would make sense.
