I need help...

Ok, guys, here's the deal. I have finally decided that this damn heat is too much for me to bear. After mourning the loss of my original 5% tint that I had to remove after being busted by a cop, I need some thoughts on what I should get on my car. I really liked the look of the previous 5% BLACK tint I had on my car, although it did prove to be a bitch to drive in in the winter here in the Pacific Northwest! I have narrowed it down to Titaniums / Mirror Tint -vs- Black / Smoke Tint in either 35% or 20%. I don't want to get busted again and have to pay for another tint job. This way, it'll still be light enough to throw them off a little. My car is the dark Cypress Green w/ the Light Gray leather. I'll look forward to your suggestions Thanks, guys!

Seriously, don't do the mirror tint, IMO. I have 20% and have never gotten a ticket for it, no matter how many times I have gotten pulled over. The 35% just isn't dark enough and is a waste of money. I wish I could go darker, but I paid $300 for my tint and I'm not about to replace it and risk getting tickets for darker tint.

I'd have to agree, don't do the mirror.
Titainum is cool, and I would do 20%. I have 10% on all sides and 50% on the front, all the way down. I haven't had any trouble w/ the cops.

Also had the same set up on my last car.

When I got pulled over before, as the cop pulled me over I'd roll down both windows and open the sunroof too.

I agree with melo72, 35% is a waste of money.

I did 5% black tint on the sides and 50% on the rear. That way when the front windows are rolled down the tint on the back doesn't look as dark, but with the front windows rolled up from the side its as black as can be. Also when you look at the car from the rear it looks like legal tint, this definetly helps with cops pulling you over.

I have black tint, 20% on the back windows and 35% up front. I dont think that the 35 is a waste of money. It looks pretty good, does a decent job of keeping the heat out, and there are no worries of cops. Although i think if i had to do it over i would get 20 all around

stay away from the MIRROR tint.... if you clocal cops are a$$es i dont suggest going 20%.. here in NY it varies so your more likely to get away with it as melo does.. but in Washington... if they are a$$es.. go 35%... I have 35%.. IMO its sporty but also classy... I dont need to come off as a young punk or drug dealer to anyone... (no offense to people with dark tinted windows... 35% has elegance and enough of a touch to cahnge the cars appearance.... thats my opinion.. do as you will....

I have 20% on my front side windows, Limo on the back side windows, and 15% on the rear. I havent gotten any tickets. And it looks dark as hell especially with the black (not charcoal) interior.

Ok, here's what I think I'll do. It seems like the popular suggestion is to go with 20% BLACK all around, but I'm still open to suggestions. That way it will be like a happy medium between the 5% I want and the 35% legal stuff. My boyfriend has 20% on a white w/ sandstone interior car and it does the job effectively. I'm also thinking of going with 5% on the sides and 20 or 35% on the rear since I also want to get one of those retracting sunshades that they offer for the Honda Preludes and other Euro luxury cars. I think those are cool looking and the lighter color will help me see out during our dark and snowy winter months here Whaddya'll think? I've also thought about doing a little touch by adding the Acura "A" symbol at the lower corner of each of the rear side windows. I think it would be classy if done right. Well, let me know what y'all think

ATTN MELO: Awwh, thanks for the welcome back message. Yes, I had a fun time. It was a neat little trip to get away from the office and stuff. We went saw some sites in Indiana, then it was off to Chicago before driving through WI and MN. Went to Mt Rushmore and the Crazy Horse monument in South Dakota (it was suprisingly beautiful there). Wyoming and Montana was a whole lot of country -- had some awesome steaks there, though -- and got to see a herd of buffalo. Anyway, that's pretty much the low down on the trip. It was fun, but tiring at times because of all the driving.

honestly.. i dont think that the As would be too nice IMO... your car easy moded(by choice) so I dont think there would be a need to place decals on your car... I would consider it if yo could find a color to match you car, but being in the decal business that color is virtually impossible to match and any other color would stand out toooo much!!! Like I said.. just my opinion... I mean i have a decal of Dale Earnhardts #3 because I love NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt so its really personal preference... I wouldnt do it... but its up to you

Hmmm... interesting feedback there. however, i think adding the little "A's" would look a lot more tastefully executed than having something totally irrelevant on my ACURA than just some random thing (i.e. an Earnhardt sticker on a car he has no affiliation to whatsoever). as you know, or already should know, I am not one for excessive "make-overs" as a result of dramatic mods and the like and I feel that that the "A's" roughly the size of the Acura Roadside Assistance sticker already in the vicinity where I want to have these "A's" (if not just slightly larger) would contribute to a far more cohesive look than having something of the aforementioned "random" nature. again, thank you for your input, Capser, but i'll pass.

Play nice people..... :p

Glad to see that you had a fun time!

I say do the A's if it makes you happy. It's your car and your allowed to do what you want to it. When your done with the small A's, you should really think about getting the really big one on the back window.... I think that looks hot!

Thanks for the support, Melo. I dunno about that BIG A in the rear window, LOL. I hope you're kidding about that.

first off.. LOSE YOUR ATTITUDE!!!!!
secondly.. you asked for peoples opinions.. i was nice an exclaimed how this was mine.. not yours, mine
thrird.. my earnhardt sticker is NOT pointless... HE WAS GREASTEST NASCAR RACER EVER!!!! and he died on the track a few months ago trying to let his son and teammate win a race.. the first time he ever drove unselfishly, he died...
so NEVER say that #3 DECAL IS POINTLESS if you dont know!!!!

Don't they sell some "Acura-CL.com" window stickers? How's that for an alternative to the circle-A logo?

20% black is a joke might as well get 5% again. if u drove by a cop and u had 5& and got pulled over. u damn well would have gotten pulle dover for the 20%. 35% is a joke because u can see in all the time during the day. it does get dark at night though. it does change the look of ur car, but it doesn't stop ppl from seeing in. here in NJ i dont want no one lookin in my shit unless i let them cuz my windows are down. as soon as i get some more $$ im tinting 5% over my 5%. then i should be happy. and mirror?? are u crazy? ull get pulled over for that 100X faster then if u had black tint. titanium also. cops round here know no car comes from the dealer with that on it. at least if u got ur windows down and u got black tint it looks like every other damn suv or minivan. i have never gotten a ticket for tint on either of my vehicles. i memorze wher the cops chill and i wont go that way or ill make sure my windows are down.
