I see the two nipples, but how to you sand them down? what's the best Dremel attachment? I was using a very small grinder bit and it broke.

go buy a router cutting bit for ur dremel. ull have them stupid little notches off in 2 secs. also if u got an extra washer from another 9000 series bulbs i reccommend doubling it up on the modified bulsb to keep them snug in the 9006 housing

I have heard that there is no poit in doing this. I have seen pics and people who have done it noticed no difference between the 9006 and 9005 bulbs. Maybe because you are using the same harness. If i was going to do it, i would go to a junk yard and get 2 9005 harnesses and cut my 9006's and crimp the 5's on. But you may still be getting the same voltage. How about one of you guys try and tell me!

Go here

Ding069...when i first did this with my stock bulbs, they were MUCH brighter, very noticeable, but when i did it to some aftermarket hyperwhites, I didnt notice a difference at all...o well, id suggest it if you have non-hyperwhite (stock) bulbs and want to light up the road more

this works best if u dont have aftermarket bulbs. some of ur after market bulbs are probably more wattage vs the norm 55 oem. and u wonder why a 65 watt 9005 oem bulbs isnt brighter. if u take a $5 9005 bulb and put it in it will be brighter than a piaa superwhite 9006 (55 watt). put a piaa 9005 superwhite in ur low beam and u get an even better result. it depends on what ur runnin. harness will do nothing and isnt needed. those wires can handle 65 watts easy.

"Ellipsoid headlights produce a yellowish pattern of light on the ground. We all agree that more light is needed. Even $400.00 for the HID upgrade is a lot of money. But some people found out that the 9005 bulbs can be modified to fit the Bmw E34.
This works only on ellipsoid."

Does this still work on our headlights? Lemme kow, they said they used cool blue.

all u are doing is chnaging from a 55 to a 65 watt blub. thats all. u could go buy aftermarket 9006 70 watt bulbs if u wanted, but they will cost more and will prob not last as long.
